Any oil that is JASO MA (or MA1 MA2) certified is designed for wet clutch setups like ours and motorcycles is fine. I found synthetic Shell Rotella T6 that is JASO MA certified for $20 a gallon at Walmart.

How long have you been using it?

Sounds like it's worth taking a closer look at it's specs. I notice you're up in Grand Haven, where do you ride out of?

The cottage is on Pottawattomie Bayou, so I usually ride out of there, then down the Grand River to Spring Lake most days when I go out.

With conventional oils, do you have to worry if its JASO certified?

YES ... it actually does not matter if you run conventional or synthetic oil (altho synthetic IS better) ... what matters is that YOU MUST RUN OIL THAT IS JASO MA CERTIFIED. If it is JASO MA certified, it has the correct additive package for wet clutch environments, and will work well in our skis.

The large market for JASO MA oil is motorcycles, not our jetskis. So look for 'motorcycle oil' or check the back of every oil bottle ... the average store WILL NOT have JASO MA oil, since it is NOT for cars, only for motorcycles primarily. Most car stores do not have JASO MA oil on the shelf, UNLESS they stock oil for motorcycles.

Regular (not JASO MA certified) oil will not hurt your MOTOR ... but it will cause your clutch to slip, performance to drop, and also likely cause your clutch washers fail early due to excessive slip.

IF you switch to a turbocharger and eliminate the supercharger altogether, you can run ANY oil you want, exactly like you would in your car.
