Question 2020 wake edition bilge pump issue

    Hey guys!

buddy of mine got a new 2020 wake,, I am not familiar with them at all. His electric bilge is running whenever the key is in and ignition pushed. Doesnít turn off until the key is out. I pulled the pump out and it doesnít appear to have an internal float.

    So my question is:

is there a switch or keypad combo that turns it on? Maybe hold left and down arrows for 2 seconds?,, never know with the new technology

does it use an external float? that I can check to see if itís stuck.

Sounds like the OEM bilge pump

    14. Install key and press start button to wake up electrical system without starting the engine. Bilge pump should start automatically. You should hear a slight whistling sound coming from the pump. This will confirm it is running.

    15. Remove key to shut off the electrical system completely.

The OEM bilge pump is designed to remain on whenever the engine is running and for a period of time afterwards. Not the best design in the world but it does eliminate the need for a float switch. The pump is made by Rule and designed to be able to run dry for hundreds of hours.

ya that is a little funny to me, i remember having an old rule that would test spin, and if resistance was found it would pump. always thought that was clever. don't know how i feel with one running all the time. probably throw a switch in the middle for him
