That was because the gas damage was to the outer...
That was because the gas damage was to the outer most clear acrylic layer. The fade is in the color beneath that layer. Compound will not remove the fade issue, unfortunately.

If you ride in salt water, its pretty easy to know if its condensation or a raw water leak from the IC, taste it. I guess, you could use a salinity test strip, but its not as tasty.:p -
