    You say "two red wires" but there should be a red and a pink. I have a pink leftover after adapting the 65u harness to the XL display. I'm thinking the pink has to do with the overheat alarm maybe?

    I dunno about severely.. it would probably run 48-50mph. I'm putting a 65u in mine, which is the 135hp 1200 motor. That's what the 1998 1200XL models came with anyways.
