and pressure was 20 psi when tested.

Sounds like good advice. Sealing on crankcase looks fine as well as all gaskets. I'm guessing filling the tank up 3/4 with 98 octane unleaded would have made premix oil fuel ratio miniscule.

Yes I just recently rebuilt it . New bearing rods pistons , re nikasil bores etc. Used spi pistons and clearances were perfect. Bores were diamond honed then plateu finished.
