I use a product made by Permatex called "the Right Stuff"

They have a problem with sc washers breaking and contaminating the oil...that is why they spin a rod bearing...they have bad exhaust valves...is the main problem
..fix it...

The box itself isn’t corroded or I would have trashed it. The bung was $15 and the weld job is $45. Not really worth cutting corners in my opinion to save $25. My intentions were to source the bung...

I believe those are just fins on the wheel that start at mid point of the wheel and grow larger towards the outer edge. You're just seeing the very tips of them, they're larger under the housing.

Thanks for all the replies. The culprit after all this time was a bad fuel injector. I cleaned all three, but a bench/flow test at a local marine repair shop revealed a bad injector. I have followed...

Maybe it is a vent for a lead acid battery? Quite possible the battery has been changed to a AGM, and therefore the vent isn’t needed. I just plugged mine and left it there.

Probably just steam from exhaust almost melting since you were running that ski out of water for 50 seconds + however long it was running before the video started.
