A little slow at putting this back together. Paint to match the motor is Tohatsu outboard motor paint....year 1990 5hp outboard. Matches great.

What kind of oil goes into the gear drives? ...

So I left the tubing on the pump so can replace in same routing. The carb are off so those oil lines are off.

Any idea on where to get engine paint so it can look new again?
BTW....had to look...

Yes.....steel piece that is corroded to almost nothing! Are they common to all STX's? Do they bolt in as I don't remember or I can pull out the old one and weld or braze new plates to it.
