Many of these things have NEVER been greased since new. On those, the grease has probably hardened inside the hose. Best thing to do if you're not sure if it's been serviced is to remove the hose...

Mine were gummed up pretty good. I stuffed a paper towel down the bore and scraped out the funk and then cleaned with carb cleaner.

looks like you have them dirty so I am not sure

I see you have PV couplers and would imagine you have th clips too. It’s hard to see in those photos but if you can’t see the sides of the PV roll pin, then you have the clips in place.
