Why not switch to one of the echomap Garmin units and install it on your ski. There are so many more options available to these units and some are cheaper than the handheld versions.

Use soapy water on the hull. Then you can slide the graphic around and position it exactly. Use an old credit card to squeegee the water out from under the decal. Let it sit a day to fully adhere.

This is exactly what I did. On one machine the nipple on the jet pump nozzle split while tapping it. Its thin cast aluminum so its easy to break it. So I cut it off and I tapped the nozzle casting....
