take the top of the F/A so you can look down into the carb. start it up and check to see if the carb is dribbling out the center venturi common issue with these.

what set do you have? if Riva or R&D which are the same I have a few extras.

It closes all the way if you do some grinding inside the diameter. no need to silicone it, the switch is sealed the shell is not a seal.

And, Just so you know with a little grinding on the Yami start stop switch on the inner diameter you can make it fit the bars I have done it many times.

You have to have a kawi lanyard they are a little wider in the slot than the Yami ones. I bought a universal lanyard that had three different sizes on it, I just cut the two off that I didn't need.

I would say the needle is staying open this can happen when the return orifices clog in the carb body, the fuel pressure increases and causes the needle valve to stick open.
