Well made it out to the garage. Started tearing apart the jet pump. Bearings seem to be fine. The impeller has some dings in it. And some chunks are missing out of the stator pump fins.

Took a gamble on another sl700 for $200 that had updated cdi but wasn't getting spark either. Swapped cdi into mine and it fired up and ran. Thanks for all the help. Now to fix the other one, and...

I tried that last fall but didn't seem to be loose that I could tell. If I'm thinking right it doesn't have the motor bed plate like the Slt 750 I don't think... I could be wrong. I'll have to...

I looked the other day and I was incorrect... Plug wires are different but not an updated cdi...

That is about where it triggered I think. So is this leading me to the possibility of the cdi being burnt out?

I tested both the red and green seperately as the blue after checking more is only on the 3 cylinder. Each time it would read 11 ohms for both....

So when testing the hall effect sensor do i test the green red and blue wire seperately each? And how many magnets are there that passes the sensor to test?

So I looked for your other thread and went to try to figure out the ohms test..... Tried test spark plug cap to engine ground, and meter spiked up... Put plug in and now I have spark.... :-/ .... But...

Lanyard is in place while testing for spark, correct?

Find the Black/Yellow wire from the CDI and disconnect it from the terminal board.

See if you now have spark.

Finally got a chance to get in the garage tonight... I don't see any damage to black wires, and tested the brown wire and comes up to little over 8.

Yes Slt 700 is a 96. Yes lanyard is in place and red purple wire from cdi connects with another red purple wire and a red blue wire that heads up out the top of box

So I bought an sl 700 and an slt 700 last year I rebuilt the motor on the sl 700 and got it running great. However there is something else wrong with it and I am not sure.

Any of you know if the sl900 jugs and Pistons would work to replace the sl700? Looks the same just a three cylinder?? Guy threw in that machine as a parts one so I took it.....

The piston looks to be in good shape, not sure if they rebuilt it and put old head back on....the cylinder walls/jug have some chunks missing and one port has a crack....is that junk also?

The papers that guy gave me said top end rebuild kit +.0.030 oversize, cylinder bore, hone, chamfer, and wash. True cylinder tops(sleeve was lower then aluminum)....
