It wonít be worth the trouble. Even if you get it heavily built and working right youíll end up with a less reliable 79-80mph ski. Youíd be better off just keeping the stock motor and put that money...

Either trade it for a P-X or buy a small 2 stroke if you donít mind turning wrenches. The lack of power will likely leave you bored coming off a 300.

I’m running an STX-R plate and stock sponsons. It’s a solid handling setup but it’s mainly to get the ski on plane quicker. The STXR plate seems to be a lot more dependent on how much you lean in vs...

I second that a 15f would be a good choice for you. Prob won’t ever hit 70 unless you dig into the engine, but if you can find one for $3-4K you could get one running 64-67 with a strong holeshot....

Np. Ik they’re out of your budget, but look at the stage 2 GP vs stage 3 RXT in the performance parts section. Similar money in mods, the GP is 3-4mph faster without touching the charger or injectors.

Like I said, the Yam will be the faster and more reliable ski with equal mod money. They’re doing mid 80s “easy” without digging into the motor. The Doos are a thrill to ride, don’t get me wrong, but...

Send it to CRT down in Florida, I think they have some kind of reflash service for the GTI 130/155 Skis. They can probably put in a hotter than stock 155 tune. I think they claim their flash bumps it...

The GP is by far the best ski if you’re modding for flat water speed. The Doos aren’t all that hard to to get upper 70s-low 80s but dollar for dollar the GP will be the faster(and more reliable) ski....

I’ll definitely post results next time I get it out. It dropped right in, but it does need longer cooling hoses, as the OEM ones are too short to reach the relocated cooling fittings. The stock pump...

Very nice! The intake mod won’t help a whole lot on top speed(~.5mph) but it does wake the ski up quite a bit on the bottom end. The mods that picked up the most speed for me aside from a plate have...

It gets gapped by any of the big 3 stock for stock. It might keep up after lots of mods on top end pulls but it’ll never have that endless mid range pull like a high hp blower ski. It’s fairly easy...

Not really. With the right plate and sponsons it’ll hold its own around buoys but it will never be as nimble as the GP or P-X. It takes quite a man to throw an Ultra around. More because of the sheer...

They’re all nearly identical now. The 310 or PX 300 might get a slight jump on a GP, but they’re so close it really comes down to which rider launches better.

Yep, FPO just means full power operation. If you just recently installed the speed module and it’s throwing a f1 code then it could be that the module isnt plugged all the way into the ECU.

It’s just the shape of the STX, it’s easy for water to flow over the hood since it’s pretty much level with the water line at idle. Try to throttle up before taking on waves to stay above them.

Even if you did mod it to the moon and get over 8500 you could just run a taller prop to get the rpms back down. A lot cheaper and easier than replacing the valvetrain. I don’t think you’d ever need...

I can almost guarantee you’ll be fine on the stock valvetrain. There are people who have run much more extensive mods on stock valves and been fine. You shouldn’t be turning much more rpm than stock...

It’s just the limiter that’s at 8800 right? As long as you aren’t sustaining 8500+ rpm I’d think you’re ok on the stock valvetrain.
