Inline sharkbite black plastic valve from lowes. The original worm gear clamps suck. You should upgrade them to a beefier clamp of the same type.

Yep they're just water logged. I would do exactly what you are doing and lean them against the wall. Maybe put a towel down to protect the corners and to sop up all the water.

Yep they are all like this. Lets just call it a very early alarm for dummies. If you fly 50 miles away from the dock, dummies need that alarm to signal them to get back with enough fuel.
