So far there are no suitable substitutes for the newer pigtail style TPS's. You can buy a 2001 and earlier throttle body and fit the older style TPS to it, still available as an Evinrude part.

A wise person I know suggests that tight cables can be greatly improved by disconnecting on both ends and then spinning the cable innards with a drill. Worth a shot 8-)
